Save & Share Scanned Photos on iCloud
Make sure your scanned photos back up to iCloud, organize them in shared albums, and manage storage on iPhone without running out of space.

Digitizing photos is step one; backing them up is step two. Here’s how to keep every scan safe inside Apple’s ecosystem.
Enable iCloud Photos
- Go to Settings → Photos and toggle iCloud Photos on.
- Choose Download and Keep Originals if you have storage space, or Optimize iPhone Storage to keep lower-res previews on-device.
- Confirm you have enough iCloud space (consider the 200 GB or 2 TB plans for large projects).
Save Scans Automatically
- In PhotoScanRestore, enable Save to Camera Roll so every final image lands in Photos, triggering iCloud sync.
- Alternatively, tap Share → Save to Files to choose an iCloud Drive folder—great for organizing by decade or project.
Share Privately
- Shared Albums: In Photos, tap + → New Shared Album and invite family via Messages or email.
- iCloud Drive links: Share a folder link with view-only permissions for relatives without Apple devices.
- In-app timeline: Keep sensitive albums inside PhotoScanRestore’s encrypted space and invite guests with temporary access.
Manage Storage
- Offload completed projects to an external SSD or NAS once they’re uploaded.
- Use Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage to delete outdated shared albums or large video scans.
- Remember that shared album photos count against your storage, so periodically archive high-res masters elsewhere.
Keep at least one copy outside iCloud (Google Drive, Dropbox, or an external drive) following the 3-2-1 backup rule.
