What is DPI?

DPI stands for "Dots Per Inch" and is a measure of how much detail is in your scanned image.

  • For Archiving: 300 DPI is a good starting point for most photos.
  • For Printing: 600 DPI or higher is recommended if you want to print enlargements.

Higher DPI means a larger file size, so it's a trade-off between detail and storage space.
